Zombie Link

Zombie Link from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the... Brains.

I did this piece for the GenCon Charity Auction. They will be auctioning this piece and many others by some other truly amazingly talented artists in a few weeks at GenCon.

Always a fan of the Zelda series, my inspiration this year was to combine my love of Link, with everyone's obsession with zombies. This is what happens when the world of Hyrule floods, and Link takes too long to rescue the princess. No longer intent on finding the Master Sword or the Triforce, Link has one burning... ever growing desire, eating BRAINS!

This design was inspired by Link from Wind Waker, though I couldn't think of a clever way to make Wind Waker sound zombie themed. Colored head to toe with Sharpie's and other permanent markers, I then sealed the figure using Krylon High Gloss Spray Paint, to ensure that he will stay looking creepy for years to come. This figure also features many hand sculpted aspects, including the toes of his boots, the lower portion of his tunic, the end of the hat, and of course, the elf ears. I also hand sculpted a small Master Sword, and using the lid to a Zelda themed mint tin and some balsa wood, made his very own Hylian Shield.

Remember that this is for charity, so break some pots, mow down some grass, and bring all the rupees that you can to GenCon to bid on this one of kind work of art.
